The Great Burlesque Exposition
In the last few weeks, some local producers have launched a vicious campaign of defamation against the Great Burlesque Exhibition, its producer, and the staff. The producers targeted performers from traditionally underrepresented groups who were cast for this year's show. The "poison pen" letters told these performers falsely that they weren't welcome or safe at The Great Burlesque Exposition. The letters fabricated a history of misogyny and body-shaming as well as homophobia, which is contrary to the core values of the Great Burlesque Exposition. They also implied that continued participation in the event could harm the performers' standing within the burlesque world.Unfortunately, these attacks based on fear worked and many performers withdrew. The situation grew worse and we now realize that there are not enough performers available to deliver the event we promised either our participants or audience. We cancel the Burlesque expo scheduled for April 20, 2024 with great sadness and anger. All tickets will receive a refund.

The Great Burlesque Exposition, or "BurlExpo", is a multi-day, annual (well, mostly annually) event that brings performers from around the world, as well as instructors, special guests and vendors. This is not our 15th exposition, but it's our 15th year. It's complicated ...), and this is our third year of bewitching Salem.
